During the 2021-2022 academic year, the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation awarded more than $258,000 in scholarships for undergraduate, graduate, and continue education. 161 of Alpha Delta Pi sisters representing 102 different chapters received scholarships ranging in value from $750-$3,000 to pay for tuition, books, and school fees. Today, we would like for you to get to know our 2021-2022 Scholarship Recipients.

It is no surprise that our scholarship recipients excel academically – representing more than 100 programs of study from 117 different colleges and universities! From future doctors to artists of all mediums, these sisters value academic success and are focused on achieving their goals.

“I am majoring in Actuarial Science with minors in Global Leadership and Mathematics. I aspire to pursue a career in insurance as an underwriter and lead the future generations of insurance.” Josephine Sandoval, Alpha Epsilon–Nebraska, Lincoln

“Throughout my time at Valdosta State, I have been a consistent member of the Dean’s List and was also the recipient of the Outstanding Graduate Award for Elementary Education. I believe Alpha Delta Pi has held my studies to a high level and assisted me in accomplishing these great honors.” Christina Alexander, Delta Theta–Valdosta State

“I am currently a third-year doctoral student at James Madison University studying to be an audiologist. I serve the Speech Hearing Association of Virginia as a student representative to the board and as a committee member for the national Student Academy of Audiology. The research project I am completing for my program is on the effect of ear infections on word learning in children. I am passionate about the importance of communication and my dream job would be working in a medical center helping children and adults with hearing loss or balance disorders.” Sarah Wright, Epsilon Chi–Longwood

But it is not just academics that set these scholarship recipients apart from other students. They are also active members on their campus and in their communities!

“Besides school, I am very involved in many other things. While at WSU, I spend my time playing intramural sports such as soccer, volleyball, and basketball. Additionally, I volunteer in my local hospital during my winter breaks in order to gain experience in healthcare. I am also a member of the mental health committee within the peer health educator program that is operated in collaboration with Cougar Health Services.” Hailey Chamberlain, Upsilon–Washington State

“I am currently a kindergarten teacher in Northern Kentucky. I am going into my eighth year of teaching, and I am convinced that I have the best job in the world. Every day I am excited to go to work because of the students I get to teach, and the future that they are making for our world. Even though my current students are just five and six years old, they are some of the most wonderful human beings.” Alicia Wittmer, Epsilon Delta–Western Kentucky

“On campus I am in a contemporary dance group, give tours to admitted students and families, tutor elementary school students, participate in an arts organization, and of course am a member of Alpha Delta Pi’s Beta Eta chapter!” Sarah Whitman, Beta Eta–Michigan

These sisters believe in Alpha Delta Pi and are leaders in their chapters. They are passionate about our sisterhood and are grateful to represent Alpha Delta Pi as Foundation Scholarship Recipients.

“While leadership was pivotal in my experience as an ADPi, I also gained many lifelong sisters and a group of people who I could always count on. This, above every other experience, was the most important to me as a first-generation college student who knew not a soul at her college. College was a scary experience at first, but ADPi propelled me into acting and being bold when I set a goal.” Caitlin Cottrell, Gamma Kappa–West Virginia Wesleyan

“I fell in love with ADPi because the sorority believes in prioritizing academics, but still focuses on the importance of giving back to the community.” Cecilia Mainzer, Beta Tau–Akron

“I most recently served as the Collegiate Province Director for three universities in Kentucky and Tennessee. I oversee the operations at Epsilon Delta (Western Kentucky University), Zeta Rho (Vanderbilt University), and Eta Gamma (Austin Peay University). I chose to give my time back to Alpha Delta Pi because of the immense blessings I received while a collegiate member at Western Kentucky University. I strongly believe that I would not be the woman I am today without the opportunities that were given to me in Alpha Delta Pi, and the women I was surrounded with each day.” Alicia Wittmer, Epsilon Delta–Western Kentucky

“What makes this scholarship even more significant to me is that it is designated for previous Leadership Consultants. I am so honored to be a member of the Sisters of the Suitcase, and the experiences that I had during my year as an LC have made a huge impact on my future career and my passion for connecting with students.” Ashlenn Wellbrock, Alpha Eta–Kansas State

“This scholarship just further proves that Alpha Delta Pi is unconditional love. It is kindness and generosity from sisters, who may technically be strangers, but share a bond stronger than most.” Peyton Tolley, Zeta Tau–Winthrop
