Your support helps us Educate, Lead, and Serve our sisterhood. Whether you give to programs combating hazing and sexual assault, educational opportunities in mental wellness, scholarships, leadership and education programs, emergency grants, the Ronald McDonald House Charities Endowment, or an educational housing fund, please know that your gift makes a positive impact on our sisterhood.

Several giving options are available to those who wish to support the Foundation and its mission. Donors to the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation may be recognized in our Annual and Lifetime Giving Clubs for their cumulative annual and lifetime support of the Foundation, as well as on our Donor Wall and, space permitting, in The Adelphean magazine each year.

Areas of Support

Your gift to the Annual Fund allows the Foundation to allocate resources wherever the need is greatest, including to support ongoing programs to combat sexual assault and hazing, provide training and speakers at leadership conferences, provide opportunities for mental wellness programs, enhance programs like the Delta Member Experience, and be prepared for new opportunities to support our Alpha Delta Pi sisters throughout the year.

Your participation in the Wesleyan Society will help provide ongoing leadership support to the Foundation’s annual fundraising efforts, programs, and special initiatives. Gifts received from Wesleyan Society members allow the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation to use our combined resources wherever the need is greatest. Membership in the Wesleyan Society is open to sisters and friends of Alpha Delta Pi who commit to give $1,851 or more per year to the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation’s Annual Fund (our area of greatest need) in support of our sisters.

Your support of the OAR Young Alumnae society will help provide ongoing leadership support to the Foundation’s annual fundraising efforts, programs, and special initiatives. Just 13 years old when she arrived at Wesleyan, Octavia Andrew was the youngest of our Founders. In her memory, we invite alumnae who were initiated within the last 13 years to join the Octavia Andrew Rush Society with a commitment of $18.51 or more per month to the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation’s Annual Fund (our area of greatest need) in support of our sisters.

The 1851 Violet Circle is Alpha Delta Pi Foundation’s giving society exclusively for our undergraduate members. Your one-time gift of $18.51 or more to the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation’s Annual Fund (our area of greatest need) in support of our sisters makes you a Foundation donor and supports the educational, leadership, and philanthropic priorities of our sisterhood.

As a token of our appreciation, undergraduate members will receive this year’s 1851 Violet Circle dangle to display on their badge. The dangle changes each year, so this year’s dangle is only available for 1851 Violet Circle members through July 31.

Annual Chapter contributions to the Mary Esther Hedley Van Akin Chapter Leadership Fund (due October 15), Abigail Davis Emergency Grant Fund (due December 1), and Annual Fund (due March 1) can now be made online with an e-check through a unique chapter link in PiPortal. These links allow a chapter to make their contribution so that the gift posts to the chapter’s giving record with the Foundation and not to the individual submitting the contribution on the chapter’s behalf. The links to make these gifts are located in PiPortal > Finance > Actions > Submit Foundation Contribution.

Your support of the Clasped Hands Fund Grant allows us to provide emergency financial assistance to Alpha Delta Pi alumnae who find themselves in financial distress. Need and circumstances determine the amount of each grant.

Your support of the Abigail Davis Emergency Grant Fund helps us provide for assistance to collegians who are experiencing unforeseen financial difficulties and are faced with the prospect of having to leave school. Grants must be used for tuition, books, or school fees. Grants may not be used for sorority dues or room and board.

Your gift to a scholarship helps the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation awards more than 120 scholarships annually to collegiate and alumnae members for undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education. Nationally competitive scholarships, as well as major-specific, regional, and chapter-specific scholarships are available. Please visit our scholarships page to learn more.

Most of our leadership training opportunities – such as the Adelphean Compass and Adelphean Connections programs – are supported through the Annual Fund (our area of greatest need). If you would like to support a national or regional leadership fund, chapter leadership fund, or an educational area such as the Social Issues Fund or an endowment to support our summer internship program or Leadership Consultants, please “Make a Gift” below.

The Alpha Delta Pi Foundation is committed to preserving the history of Alpha Delta Pi’s place in history as the first secret society for women in the world through our digital archives, as well as by preserving the monuments and memorials unique to our organization.

As part of the We Believe Campaign, a Ronald McDonald House Charities Endowment was established at the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation. This fund allows any Ronald McDonald House throughout the world to apply directly for grants from the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation, allowing us to provide support for houses that do not have an ADPi chapter or alumnae association nearby supporting them, new houses being built, existing houses being renovated, and family rooms being expanded and renovated. If you are a chapter or alumnae association trying to make a philanthropy event contribution, please use the online Philanthropy Contribution Form accessible through Pride Online.

Educational housing funds with the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation are used to fund charitable and educational activities, specifically for the benefit of qualifying capital building projects and project-related expenses that promote the desired atmosphere of academic study.

Many states require charities soliciting funds within a state to register with the state agency responsible for regulating charities. Click here for our state disclosure statements.
